Homily - Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Rev. James L. Nadeau
Why is the world such a scary and violent place? Why are there injustices and evil? Why do people get sick and die? If God is good, why is the world not a nicer and safer place?
These are questions people have been asking for centuries. All cultures have wrestled with them.
Where is God?
God has always been with us - at times gently nudging us in the right direction. God have never ceased working on our behalf, not even for a moment.
God has always called upon and relied upon the efforts of so many men and women throughout the centuries.
Many of them are anonymous.
Some of them stand out - great prophets and religious leaders. Some are spectacular.
NONE are like Mary, the Mother of Jesus. In her we have a glimpse of what it would be like to walk with God - free from the burden of shame and fear.
