SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER May 29, 2022 Did you know there are many faces in God’s house? That is right, there are many faces in God’s house, and this is precisely why we have Jesus in the gospel reading praying for unity/for oneness. One is 1 of the marks of the Church of Christ that we profess each Sunday. We believe in 1, holy, Catholic and Apostolic church. Time and time again we hear Jesus speak about the unity and oneness of the Church. Think about it. There is only 1 Roman Catholic Church. Did you also know that there are over 50,000 different denominations around the world? -If you are Roman Catholic you know that your religion was founded in year 33 by Jesus Christ, son of God, true God and Man. - If you are Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther King, an ex-Catholic monk, in the year 1526. -If you are Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox, an ex-Catholic, in 1560. -If you are from the Church of England, your religion was founded by Henry VII, an ex-Catholic, in 1534. -If you are Mormon, your religion was founded by Joseph Smith in Palmyra NY in 1829. -If you are Seventh Day Adventists, your religion was founded by Ellen White in 1860. -If you are Jehovah’s Witness, your religion was founded by Charles Russell in 1872.
Oneness, that was Jesus’ prayer and should be ours too. So, if you know someone who has fallen away, invite them back. Bring them to mass.
