The Saintly Monk, Angelus Silesius, once wrote, “What would it profit you if Christ was born in Bethlehem 1,000 times; if he has not been born even once in your heart?”
This quote gets to the heart of today’s feast. The word “epiphany” means manifestation.
Christ was made known to the gentile world via the three kings. They came, they saw, and they were changed.
What about us?
How are we going to let the world know what we have seen? God manifest in us? He can be born 1,000 times. We can look at the manger scene 1,000 times, but we have to let him be born in our hears; it has to be on fire.
Just like the three kings with the eyes of the heart. We have to go, to see and be changed.
Notice the three went back by a different route. They were changed; they were not the same.
So with us too: Work how we handle people, neighborhood, volunteer, feed others, etc. The three kings came, they saw, and they were changed. History tells us they made a difference. This whole feast is about the manifestation of God.
