SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME January 15, 2023
In an oversimplification, a Jesuit priest friend wrote to me: “when it comes down to it, there are only 3 types of people: a jaw bone, a head bone, and a back bone.” A jaw bone…people that talk about getting things done. A head bone…people that just think about ways to get done, but doesn’t follow through. A backbone is someone who gets things done. Readings: God promises to him and Israel to make them a light to the nations. Responsorial: Here I am Lord, I came to do your will. Christianity is an active religion.
Blessed is the person indeed who in this life can find a purpose that can fill their days. The world is filled with little people content with where they are. Yet, in this world there is a need for people to lead the rest to rise above the average, by giving their best.
