On this great day, how can I recount for you these hidden realities? How can I lay open before you the mystery of the Lord’s Resurrection? For each and every event that happened to our Savior is an outward sign of the mystery of our redemption.
What do all these realities mean? Just as Christ was born from his mother’s womb, He to rose again from the closed womb of the earth. As he, the only begotten son of God, was made the first born of his mother, so by his resurrection, he became the first born from the dead. Suffering, pain, and sighs have now fled away. With our faith we know the good news of Easter is not only that Christ has risen from the dead, but those who are baptized will also rise from the dead.
The gospel records how Peter and John came to the tomb in daylight so that no one could suspect them of having stolen the body of Jesus. The disciples noted the neatness of the folded linens – which would not have been the case had someone stolen the body. For no one taking the body would leave the linens nor would the thief ever had stayed to fold the linens, lest he be caught. This is the credibility of Revoution – tells us about the truth we have been taught.
We too should hurry to the tomb this Easter with the light of faith not in darkness. Notice once faith took hold the darkness of doubt and the fear of the unknown disappeared. Resurrection is true, may it give us hope.
