SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT December 4, 2022
There are 3 people who play a big role in this season of purple. The are Isaiah, Mary, and John the Baptist. *Isaiah, the prophet, tells of God getting His people ready through suffering, and a journey to be a people of hope for a God who will come to rescue them. *And Mary, she waits, unlike anyone else who has ever waited for Christ’s coming. Because the promised one, Jesus, is resting within her womb. *Then we have John the Baptist, who is going before the land, to go before Jesus to prepare his way, preaching change, repent, get better – He is coming.
May I suggest that we spend this 2nd week of Advent thinking and living like what John the Baptist shouts for us to do. Repent, the Kingdom of God is at hand His message – repent – change your mind, change your thinking, turn about, return to the right way, be converted.
His message is an old message but has great meaning for today. Ukraine and Russia, Korea, crime, food insecurity
If you would prepare well for His coming, do it with John the Baptist’s message this week. Repent, change your mind, change your way of thinking, turn around and repent.
